  • The visible image may still reveal people, addresses, landmarks, screens, or documents.
  • Copies already shared elsewhere are not changed when you clean a local file.
  • Editors and social platforms may write new metadata into a later export.

How can I remove GPS data from a photo?

Add the image and choose Privacy clean. If recognized GPS metadata is present, the verification view will report it as removed.

Does AI provenance only remove EXIF?

No. AI provenance only intentionally keeps EXIF, including GPS. Choose Privacy clean for EXIF and GPS removal.

Can I remove one EXIF field at a time?

No. MetaScrub removes supported groups of metadata; it is not a field-level EXIF editor.

Does EXIF removal reduce photo quality?

MetaScrub does not intentionally alter or recompress image pixels while removing supported metadata.
