Creators can add a disclosure when sharing. That disclosure can affect how a post is understood and labeled.

Questions about AI info labels?
Does removing metadata guarantee the label disappears?
No. Metadata removal only changes supported metadata inside your file. Instagram can also use its own systems, disclosures, and platform context when applying a label.
Is C2PA the same as EXIF?
No. EXIF commonly stores camera, capture, and GPS details. C2PA Content Credentials are signed provenance records that can describe how a file was created or edited.
Does AI-provenance-only remove GPS?
No. AI-provenance-only removes recognized C2PA/JUMBF and AI-tagged metadata while keeping EXIF, including GPS. Use broad privacy removal when you want recognized EXIF and GPS removed.
Will cleaning change image quality?
No. MetaScrub removes supported metadata blocks without recompressing the image. The pixel data remains unchanged, and the ICC color profile is kept.
Are images uploaded?
No. Inspection and cleaning run locally in your browser. Your source images are not uploaded to a MetaScrub server.
Can MetaScrub remove SynthID?
No. SynthID is a pixel-level watermark rather than a standard metadata block, so metadata cleanup cannot remove it.
Which formats are supported?
MetaScrub supports JPEG, PNG, and WebP images. Documents, video, audio, RAW, HEIC, and other formats are not supported.
